Lecturer I

PLANT BIOLOGY

Adeniran Sunday Adebunmi (Ph.D.) hold doctoral and master degrees in Botany from the University of Lagos, Nigeria and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology Education from the University of Nigeria, Nigeria. I am a plant systematist and anatomist with focus on tropical species. I employ data derived from microscopic and macroscopic observations to provide insight into phylogenetic and genetic relationship among and between plant species in all taxonomy ranking. My PhD thesis provided quantitative and qualitative data for improved classification, identification and conservation of Nigeria and Cameroons Annonaceae. I pay attention to regional distribution, historical evolution and anthropogenic activities that has triggered complexity among biodiversity in plant. As a lecturer and researcher at University of Ilorin, Nigeria in the Department of Plant Biology, Faculty of life sciences, I have a number of published articles at both national and international journal.
