Plant BIology

Dr. Stephen Oyedeji is a lecturer in the Department of Plant Biology with several years of experience in teaching, research, and administration. He has supervised well over 70 undergraduate theses and 7 M.Sc. theses. He has served and is currently serving on various committees at the department, faculty, and university levels. He is the examination officer and seminar coordinator for the Department of Plant Biology. His research interests are in plant ecology and environmental botany. He has well over 30 publications in reputable journals and book chapters to his credit. He is a member of professional societies within and outside Nigeria and has attended several academic conferences. He has won several awards and fellowships; notable of these include the TWAS-DFG Fellowship for Research Cooperation Visit (2020), Research Training Fellowship for Developing Countries Scientists (NAMS&T Centre, India) (2015), and Murli T. Chellaram Foundation Postgraduate Fellowship (2012). He also spent a year at Uka Tarsadia University, India, as a visiting lecturer at the C.G. Bhakta Institute of Biotechnology and Kishorbhai Institute of Agriculture Science and Research Centre.
